Re: Ships that pass in the night

Yes!!! They get trained in Betan sex therapy in pretty different sorts of circumstances but they've most definitely both been trained, and have a very... well, Betan sort of free-spirited attitude toward sex. It's great. I'm so sad there's no fic about all the incredible sex they could have with each other. (Or even with other people. I'm relatively new to the fandom myself so I'm not sure how it used to be back on LJ, but there's not a ton of Vorkosiverse porn on AO3 in general!)

HMM, what's the best non-spoilery info to give... They're both pretty upbeat and outgoing, and they both have wickedly good business senses. (I would kill just for a fic about them burning through the galaxy cutting deal after deal with a terrifying good-cop/bad-cop routine, honestly.) They also both give sort of an outsider's perspective on the whole Old Vor thing that Aral & Miles & co. have going on, since Kareen is from a prole family and Tej isn't Barrayaran at all. So it'd be easy and IMO fun to explore different ways of looking at like, romance and sex and other stuff through them, plus the fact that they come from very different cultures means you could do fun stuff with culture clash. God, I'm going to stop before this turns into a full-on ship manifesto. Again, they've never met! I just think it'd be AMAZING if they did.

And oh man, anon, I fucking love Drou/Princess Kareen and Cordelia/Alys. With Cordelia/Alys a lot of my affection for the ship comes from this sense of a long, sustained, important friendship that you won't have seen that much of at the point where you are in the books so I won't go into that so much, but Drou/Kareen (Vorbarra, and now I'm gonna stop adding caveats about which Kareen I'm talking about because hopefully it's obvious!) provides so much fodder for like, angst and furtive affairs and pining and princess/protector dynamics and power-related kink and then even MORE angst (because Kareen, well. If you've read Barrayar, you know!). All the good stuff.

And I think I accidentally just wrote a novel - sorry, sorry, I'm just so eager to talk femslash in this fandom!!! - but I'd also be super interested in your thoughts on the ships you've encountered, if you feel like sharing!
