"Am I supposed to tell you not to go?" Akira wonders aloud as the two of them take down the macaron-mosaic sky.
"Do you want to?" Yukari asks.
"Maybe? I don't want to be selfish. I don't even know how much time I'll have for you while I'm studying for entrance exams... or is that what this is about?"
"It isn't."
"What is it, then? Was I supposed to say something in front of everyone when you made the announcement, to prove I don't care what anyone thinks?"
"That would have been cute," says Yukari.
"Then... I failed the test? Just like that, I just... lose you?" A fistful of the midnight blue macarons crumble when she grasps at them too roughly. A small part of the sky falls.
"It wasn't a test," Yukari assures her. "I fully intend to come back to you."
