I love that one too! And IDK, as much as I enjoy fix-it fics and headcanons, I kind of like that there's no happy ending for them in canon. Part of the appeal of their dynamic to me is that no matter how much they may love each other, they both have strong loyalties that neither is willing to compromise for the other even though that puts them in conflict.
