Possibly Delenn is a flower maiden who managed to find a cure (only to be discovered and ostracized?). She is obviously also a noblewoman--hmm, maybe she's the mistress of the brothel? She has ideas about reform but not all the flower maidens are on board with it.
Ivanova's mother was a flower maiden (idk if they can get pregnant in the original, I feel like not? but whatever) and Susan is deeply bitter about the whole thing. Especially since Susan's flower-maiden lover Talia also died.
