Seriously, I cackled in glee
when the thing happened, you know, the thing
they did the fakeout with Nicole getting shot and then proudly revealing that she had a bulletproof vest on due to standard procedure. It felt like a nice wink to how they're definitely not doing the Bury Your Gays trope.
