Awww, tbh that line didn't even ping to me so much as Mantis's comment that she was interested in the kind of Drax was. So I feel like canon already gives me plenty of reason to think she's mostly into ladies, and Gamora's my favorite, so.

I do sometimes have trouble thinking about Mantis in a shippy way, though, because she's soooo sheltered and I worry that any relationship she could be in would be pretty unbalanced, at least if it started just post-GotG. I feel like I need shippiness to happen a little later, once she's learned more about like, how to people.

Yeah I definitely agree, I feel like Mantis would need a little more experience with other people (and maybe other relationships) before being ready to get into a relationship with someone as complicated as Gamora.

And that line you mentioned about Drax was relevant to my interests too! I mean on the one hand, what does being gay even mean in a world like Guardians of the Galaxy that's full of alien races with different biology and genders, but on the other hand…that's gay.
