classic femslash fics

I feel like I don't really know what the big classics are for f/f. Or the infamous classics, either. I just don't know much about older f/f fandom at all. So, reminisce here about the fics everyone was reading back in the day, or fics you think everyone should still read now.

There’s Xena/Gabrielle, of course. How classic are we talking? The one with big archives, mailing lists, fanzines? There was Shego/Kim Possible, Mirandandy from The Devil Wears Prada, Daria/Jane Lane at the top of my mind.

If you're talking about classic fics, I think you're going to find that a lot of them have had their serial numbers filed off and published-- that happened with Xena fic, and later with Devil Wears Prada fic, and there's probably a bunch of other fandoms I don't know about where it happened as well.

Tons of them. They started a publisher, Renaissance publishing, I think. One of the books was even in my library.

It's a Gilmore Girls Rory/Paris fic from (as you can see by the link) 2005. I would be surprised if many femslashers Of A Certain Age had not read it or at least been recced it several times in their fannish life.

There was a lot of Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2 f/f back in the day, but I don't know if that's what you're interested in. Also a lot of Willow/Tara and Buffy/Faith in BtVS.

Mina de Malfois was one of the first fandoms I shipped F/F in, and was a pretty big deal in my parts of LJ fandom back in the proverbial day. I'm not sure if it counts as fic, since it's not based on a single fandom? It's definitely fannish, though. The F/F ship is between a BNF and her archivist.

It's all archived with Texas A&M -- I'd start with The Annotated Mina, Volume One
