(Anonymous) 2018-08-11 12:31 am (UTC)(link)I feel like s15/16 have had potential that just doesn't pan out. :( Like, I was so looking forward to seeing Carolina and Kai interact because COMEDY GOLD, but there was hardly anything! I'm gonna ship it anyway, but man, imagine if it could have been Carolina and Kai going on a sex tour of the past instead of Kai and Tucker. (Which I liked, too, because getting Kai character development was lovely, but - we could have had it all, RT. ALL!) And Kalirama ended up kinda fizzling as a villain, too, which really disappointed me.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-11 03:01 am (UTC)(link)I know, right? Carolina and Kai interacting was like, number one on my season 16 wish list, and then Carolina was offscreen for most of the season altogether. :/
Chorus was pretty great also--new female characters! More than one! Now if only we could get them onscreen... at the same time...
I wish I could've gotten into Kalirama--there was a lot of fan enthusiasm for her but I just felt like there was nothing there.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-11 03:14 am (UTC)(link)SAME. :( I enjoy Carolina & Wash, but I just really want to see Carolina becoming more part of the Reds and Blues, and having her and Sister hang out would have been great for that, and also there are just so many amazing interactions they could have! (One that springs immediately to my mind: "Hey, a Freelancer, huh? Like that hot Tex chick?" "exCUSE ME??")
Yeah, I love the Chorus trilogy a LOT, but I do think that balancing character screen time (and interactions) is one of its weaker points - there were a lot of potential interesting interactions that didn't really come to anything.
She had an AMAZING entrance but just - petered out. :/ I wish she'd been the leader of the gods.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-11 03:56 am (UTC)(link)Yes! Kaikaina bringing up Tex could've been REALLY interesting, given that Kai knows nothing about Carolina's baggage with Tex and also holds nothing back when she has something to say.
Also I'm not above wishing for canon to lowkey imply (again?) that Kaikaina and Tex might've fucked at some point, and what better time than now! Okay, that might just be wishful thinking.
Chorus definitely struggled with balance overall. It has a lot of dropped threads and relationship development definitely suffers a bit. I will always love the Kimbalina Shoulder Touch with all of my soul, but it would've been so much better with some actual build-up showing them working together becoming friends.

If we can't have Tex back again in canon (and, much as I hate to admit, we probably aren't gonna), we could at least have - some mentions now and again, and especially Carolina dealing with her leftover feelings. ... and DEFINITELY lowkey implying of Tex/Kai hookups.

And even story wise I don't know that it would be great if they were to try bringing her back--even the flashback in season 15 left a lot to be desired for me.
But Carolina dealing with her feelings about Tex--ABSOLUTELY, SIGN ME UP.

YES, PLEASE, I WANT IT SO MUCH. (God, I really have to finish up this longfic project so I can go back to that oneshot AU I started where Epsilon!Tex was on Hargrove's ship and got a new body and Carolina finds out about when Tex walks up to her like "hey Carolina" and everything is AWKWARD AND DRAMATIC.)
