(Anonymous) 2018-08-14 04:25 am (UTC)(link)Americans are usually also straight
People with driver's licenses are usually also straight
Seriously, that statement means nothing because statistically there are much more straight people than gay people, that doesn't mean that there are no LGBT people in that given population, or that the intersection of LGBT people with that population should be ignored.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-14 04:29 am (UTC)(link)I've never seen anyone say this. Unless you're one of those people who interpret "cishet aces are cishet" as "all aces are cishet".
Cishet aces are cishet and are just as likely to be homophobic and transphobic as cishet non-aces.

(Anonymous) 2018-08-14 04:43 am (UTC)(link)I was replying to the nonny above saying "asexuals are usually also straight" as part of acewank because I don't really think that line of argument is really relevant or even cogent. Like, that's not an argument for asexuals being homophobic, you could basically make the same wanky statement about most blanket demographic groups, and there still would be a subset of that demographic group who are LGBT.
I'm not sure if I'm being 100% clear, but basically: Cishet aces are cishet and not immune from being bigoted, but painting all aces with that brush is 1) ignoring the population of ace people who aren't and 2) just a poor argument in general.
