Look, you may only have met asexuals through Tumblr discourse posts (and I could scroll through Tumblr and find wanky posts from literally any community) but I do actually have fun hanging out with friends and partners who are asexual. None of them think I'm disgusting, many of them are in same-sex relationships themselves, and our conversations about femslash are not very different from my conversations with non-ace people.

I would also add, many of my ace friends and many of their ace friends stopped participating in sexuality discussion online years ago, and most of the loudest "ace community" voices on the internet tend to be people who just don't give a shit about what's being said outside their "community", both the valid and the harmful. Rather than representative of all aces, or the communities they make on and offline.
