Less trashy yuri anime I have enjoyed:

Princess Princess: Spies and steampunk and identity porn!
Revolutionary Girl Utena: Has anyone not seen this
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Angsty magical girls
Yuri Kuma Arashi: Symbolic and surreal lesbian bears. Makes no damn sense but I liked it.

I've been meaning to watch Flip Flappers, which I have heard is cute.

Flip Flappers is cute, yeah! It has some great animation as well as good f/f potential. Story-wise, I thought the episodes were a bit of a mixed bag but it's a short series and worth giving it a shot.

I like Flip Flappers. The animation is also gorgeous. But the thing is, the plot really went off the rails in the second half and soured my view of the characters.
