Who wants to talk Fire Emblem ladies with me? I got the same-sex marriage Awakening hack working and I am FULL OF FEELINGS, especially about Lucina/Severa, who in my game are married and fully capable of decimating entire armies by themselves. It's great.

What do you all ship, from any FE game? Which game is your favorite - for f/f potential or just in general? Fic and art recs are also great!

Anyway, I've only played Awakening and Blazing Blade/Sword at this point, but both of them have a variety of exciting f/f ships, of which I ship... many. I'm not really sure where to start, honestly!

It's a bit complicated but I'm just going to barrel ahead full-bore into the explanation, haha.

So, there's a bunch of stuff about homebrew and getting it to work on an actual 3DS but I played it using Citra, which is a 3DS emulator, so I didn't have to worry about that part. Citra can chug quite a bit, making the animated cutscenes kind of hilarious, and also there are graphical glitches here and there with the 3D models in cutscenes, but I played it through start to end with no game-breaking issues, and the battles and supports were mostly perfectly fine.

I got an Awakening .3ds file via a reddit post (not sure if sharing the link is kosher but it's easily googleable).

From there, use this tool: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-net-3ds-toolkit-extract-and-repack-3ds-roms-and-cias.444427/

to unpack the files. Just open ToolkitForm.exe and it's pretty straightforward. After that, just take one of the romfs folders from the hack zip file (I don't think it matters which, I think they're just set up in different folder structures for different on-actual-3DS-hardware tools, which we don't care about) and copy it into the directory in the unpacked folder and let it overwrite the existing romfs folder (you may need to change the capitalization of romfs but that should be it). Then use the same tool, go to the Build tab, and repack the files, and you should be good to go.

ANYWAY feel free to talk about anything and everything! I like Lucina/Severa best but Severa has chemistry with every girl. First gen I like Sumia/Cordelia, Lissa/Maribelle, and Tharja/F!Robin, but I'm pretty open to variety. In my playthrough of the hack I married Sumia/Sully and they were super cute. I also love thinking about all the sibling combination potential when you can do f/f parent pairs! That's another cool thing about the hack, there are a lot of unique sibling and other-parent supports, although I wish there were more implemented.

It has been a very long time since I've played FE7 but I remember being totally there for Lyn/Florina (god that fandom and it's het waifu wars was terrible though).

Severa/every girl is a quality set of ships, I agree--I also particularly like Lucina/Severa (loyalty kink!) as well as Severa/Kjelle, and your first-gen ships are among my top first-gen ships too, although I'm also super into Tiki/Say'ri. Sully/Sumia was in "sure, that could be fun" territory in the base game but their interactions in that Harvest Festival DLC were super gay, I loved it. And yeah, it's fun to consider the sibling and family dynamics that you get with the f/f ships!

I am so there for Lyn/Florina! Rebecca/Nino is also really cute. And on the fucked-up side of things, I keep trying to figure out how to make Ursula/Vaida hatesex happen, in a fic. I mean, normally I'd go fighting/sparring -> makeouts but Ursula is a mage so she has no reason to get up close and personal. ... I'm not very imaginative, apparently.

My favorite awakening ship is Noire/f!Morgan (and I even have them married in my hacked file) but there doesn't seem to be a lot of content for it despite their non-sibling supports being very sweet.

You know, I always end up playing f!Robin so I'd never seen any of f!Morgan's supports before. I looked these up on Youtube and aww, they really are cute! And their S-support from the gay Awakening hack is adorable.

Before the hack existed I exclusively played as m!Robin solely to marry girls (although if you asked me the one I made isn't a guy :p) so f!Morgan is kind of my personal canon Morgan. I'm really disappointed how Noire and Nah are the only girls that she isn't related to that she can support with in the vanilla game.
