Me! I'm a multishipper who hasn't found a ship I like for Ana yet. There are the big ones like Phamercy and WidowTracer but I'm also a fan of Sombra/Zarya, Sombra/Symmetra and basically most configurations of girls. I tried to post a mini Zarya/Mei ship manifesto to meme and got no bites so I'm reposting it here:

Nonnies, I am way into Zarya/Mei. Sure, they have a total of two interactions together, but I'm really into the ice/winter theme, the height difference and general friendliness. Both of them are pretty good-natured but have huge amounts of trauma in their pasts, and I feel like they'd respect each other's strength and resilience. Plus their interactions do feel kinda flirty:

Mei: Zarya? I don't understand how you can fight in the cold wearing so little. Zarya: I'll tell you my secret if you give me your coat.

Mei: Zarya? How can you even pick up all that weight? Zarya: I lift as well as I lift because it cannot be avoided.

Maybe they get snowed in together. Maybe they flirt a lot, but Mei keeps herself aloof because she can't take losing someone close to her again. Maybe Zarya gets assigned to be Mei's bodyguard, but Mei ends up saving her instead! No matter how it happens, they look really good together:

ZarMei is cute, but I think a little too fluffy for the tastes of meme's femslashers. We seem lean a bit more into dirtybadwrong ships.

Ahh, it's harsh because I do like fluffy ships but fluffy ships with personality! Jokes, character conflict, high amounts of working through past trauma through slow atmospheric tea-brewing scenes... So many fluffy ships are written really blandly, especially fluffy f/f that boils down to "you're cute. no, you're cuter!" but fluff done well can be immensely satisfying.

I think Better Angels of Our Natures is my favorite fluffy Overwatch fic: it's Widow/Emily/Tracer fic where they basically sexily adopt her and help her work through her assassin trauma and there's a long plot-relevant vacation in the French countryside.

Oooh, thank you for reccing this fic. It's very fun and I'm enjoying it as my intro to Overwatch fandom! (I have the Overwatch wiki open in another tab to tell me who the characters are and what they look like.)

Isn't it great? It just straddles the line between cozy and cathartic so perfectly. I think of it as a wish fulfillment fic but I'm never sure if I want to be part of a perfect couple healing a traumatized assassin with sex and good food or to be adopted by a couple with healthy communication strategies who are very invested in my emotional landscape.
