hmm. hmmmm.

Theoretical fic summary: 5 times Artemis regrets falling into Hera's bed, and 1 time she doesn't.

Okay I was skeptical but I am coming around. Thinking on it, they're really the antithesis of each other, aren't they? I've always tended to pair Artemis and Athena as the opposites, savagery vs civilization, but it works just as well with Hera. Hera tames beasts, Artemis runs free with them. Hera is all about social society and structure and the specific kind of power women wield by aligning with patriarchy, Artemis is a rejection of all those things. It would be so messy. ...I like it. Imagine the situations they would drag each other into!

Yes! They're very diametrically opposed in ways that make them philosophical enemies almost, but that clash is very fascinating to me. And I think they're both pretty invested in control, Hera in the idea of controlling the domestic sphere and Artemis more about self-control and discipline as a huntress. And when two control freaks get together... lots of lovely power struggle and conflict.

And I do think it would be better for both of them to understand each other, in a sort of "my way is not the only way" manner.
