Which f/f pairings among comrades fighting on the same side do you like the most?
Which fall short for you for whatever reason?
Which characters do you think could be great at this dynamic, if only canon had complied?

All of my ships from Simoun. Neviril/Aeru, Paraietta/Kaimu, Yun/Fucking Everyone, Mamina/Rodoreamon.

It's such an excellent canon for this trope. The characters are members of a squadron of mystical fighter pilots in the midst of a holy war. I think I actually love it even more for the band-of-brothers focus on these girls as a team, and the way they experience the war both as a group and as individuals within the group, as much as I do for the various ships.

Although the shipping is really excellent, too.

Nami/Vivi, Nami/Robin Of those two, I like Nami/Vivi a tiny bit more, but I think Nami/Robin has the stronger sisters-in-arms flavour. I see Nami/Vivi more as "friends-to-lovers who are also comrades" while Nami/Robin is more "close comrades who are also lovers" to me.

I ship Ibronka/Roaana from the Khaavren Romances. They're characters in a fantasy pastiche of the sequels to The Three Musketeers, and they're adorable and so happy to be on an adventure and refer to each other as my love. Canon went with an unnecessary het plotline but I just ignore that.
