DA HIMYM had a decent-sized following outside of fandom, and got at least a little fic inside of fandom (enough to be too big for Yuletide, at least, which for a sitcom canon isn't bad).

...but very few of them shipped Ted/Robin. Maaaaaybe 10% of the audience wanted that to be endgame. The big pairing in the fandom was Robin/Barney, which the ending sidelined to go Ted/Robin and almost everyone in the fandom HATED that ending, violently, to the point where the creators released an alternate ending that retconned it.

In conclusion, CandyUmbrella is nuts and her theory makes no sense even if you apply it to HIMYM fandom. Also more people should have written Lily/Robin.
