is this a ffa meme or is it for everyone?

it seems like some people want us to adopt all ffa mannerisms and injokes and most especially the popular ideas there (both about sexuality/mogai politics and fandom) but i think the only rule should be to talk about f/f and not be a dick

I mean, as the earlier anon said, don't be a dick? Some people's 'flippant' is others' 'wildly insulting'. I try to engage in good faith, but I'm also OK with relegating trolls and people who are purposely trying to make others angry to the wank containment thread. If by flippant you mean stuff like... casual 'lmao' or 'omg sexy' comments, imo that's fine and just a stylistic difference.

i agree that being "flippant" as in "saying rude or cruel shit for no reason" is something that should be shut down

i'm honestly in favor of deleting trolls on sight instead of containing them

but it's just the insistence that everyone has to type/act in ffa house style that annoys me, of course on ffa it's silly to go against it but this isn't that comm or only used by people from that comm

if you modcall replies attempting to police grammar/capitalization, mods will gladly freeze the policing comments for OTT jerkassery. style policing is not of general interest.

Sincere question, because I'm honestly not sure what you mean: what insistence? I'm another anon who's been typing the way I'm used to, which might come across as fairly FFA, but I don't care how anyone else types. I've been flatmeming and haven't seen any comments that came across to me as insisting on an FFA housestyle, but tbf I'm skimming over some threads so I have missed things. Can you point me to an example of people doing this?

I'm pretty sure what they mean by "insistence" is "other people use capitals and I feel judged when I don't, even though nobody's said any such thing."

I know there has been a bit of #discourse here and on other comms about whether the mods are "w4w mods" or "ffa mods" and what our opinions on the popular sexuality discourse politics of the day are, etc., but speaking as the person who created this comm, this isn't intended to be wiffu-lite OR ffa-lite, it's intended to be its own thing. (this is why w4w vs ffa wank was banned for the post... if responses to this subthread start getting into that, btw, I'm gonna freeze it.)

so yeah, this is NOT an ffa meme but while mods have our own opinions about intracommunity politics and whatnot, for now we're not going to take an official position on discourse to the extent that w4w does because this place isn't intended to be w4w-lite either.

I do feel comfortable saying as the comm creator that regardless of my feelings in general about [w4w/ffa/various anon memes] this comm was born specifically from my annoyance with nonnies' douchery in the "would a femslash meme be viable" ffa thread + several years' worth of built-up irritation at the way the mods there handle sexuality politics and how a lot of nonnies tend to be about f/f in general. edit: also I wanted an anything-goes f/f only kinkmeme where I could draw anime tiddies to my heart's content

I can also confirm that to the best of my knowledge neither I nor the other mods are or have ever been ffa mods OR w4w mods, just to put that particular rumor to rest.

It's for everyone, but a large contingent of the "original" members are from FFA and aren't going to stop using references we're familiar with. That's not being a dick.

i'm sorry, i just capitalize letters out of habit, and if i'm on my phone it automatically capitalizes them for me, so it would actually be a lot more work to try to look like i don't care
