Helen Magnus/Vampire Queen Afina from that one episode of Sanctuary because it was basically canon and super effing hot.

That episode awoke in me a serious vampire blood slave kink. It's a whole thing for me now.

Obvious rec, but the Carmilla web series. I only watched season 1 but it was a lot of fun. There's also the original 19th century novel if you want to go old school but I've never read it.

This isn't exactly a rec because the story itself is inherently awful, but I LOVED the Queer as Fiction discussion/reading of Rackula, a dime store short story quality lesbian retelling of Dracula:

My favourite configurations tend to be human/vampire or new vampire/old vampire, particularly if there’s friction between them. I wish there was more “vampire hunter reluctantly working with vampire” and “charismatic older vampire teaches an unwilling new vampire” for femslash.

Polly/Maladict (Monstrous Regiment) is the exception, but Mina/the Brides (Dracula), Carmilla/Laura (Carmilla book) and Danny/Mattie (Carmilla web series) fit my love for angst!

I love the tropes of one unwillingly drinking the other’s blood, saving the former enemy from dying/getting staked, and vampire powers being used for sex :D

Vamps (2012 film) also has some femslash potential!

Unsolicited fic rec: if you know The Good Place, there's a Buffy fusion that has Tahani as a vampire slayer and Eleanor as a vampire she ends up working with.

For the older vamp/new vamp -- I remember there being some for Katherine/Caroline from TVD way back when. It definitely tended to be on the dubcon/manipulation/fucked up side because, you know. Katherine.

Hard same, nonny, especially the older vampire/unwilling new vampire. It goes so well with all my favourite mentor/protege tropes!

I love a good mentor/protégée dynamic. Do you have any pairings which would lend themselves to these kind of vampire AUs?

i'm a sucker for vampire hunter/vampire ships when it's gay esp when it turns out that the society the hunter is part of has dark secrets and they need to turn on their fellow hunters

I imprinted so hard on Darla/Dru (and Fanged Four poly). They just had so much there and were so cute and hot together.

i can't think of many canon examples besides carmilla which had rather mediocre writing at times
though i do like/appreciate the hollstein ship and that there was a nonbinary character

still it'd be great if there could be more vampire femslash so we wouldn't necessarily have to settle
