I didn't care for Ashe until I realized I basically want her to be the daddy in any Lana Del Rey song

I'm not familiar with LDR's songs, what's the context, anon? I never thought Ashe & daddy would ever be in the same sentence. :o

For me, I honestly thought she was cute since beginning, didn't understand why people raged as much as they did over her. Who do you ship her with?

In the broadest interpretation: An older (check) man (or not) who is a baddie (check), deals drugs and does other shady shit (check) and is richer than God (very check)--that then gets reeled into a fling with a younger girl replete with a lot of the trappings of decadent Americana (Ashe is a cowgirl, so fucking check), while staying very in-charge (my business, my rules) and dominant. Shades of Lolita optional but desirable.

The problem with this is I don't especially know of any Overwatch characters that fit the other side of this dynamic? I guess you could go D.Va for maximum dirtybadwrong? But good luck getting people to sign off on any D.Va f/f that isn't with Brigitte or her MEKA teammate who is literally a portrait. I guess Sombra is younger than Ashe and it could be hot (and I wrote the Ashe/Sombra snippet on FFA, but dememe's deadzo), but I don't know that I completely buy that ship myself. Because Sombra's the kind of character who doesn't get into anything that doesn't serve her ulterior motive, and Ashe is very much on the periphery of whatever plot-dominating conspiracy exists in the world of Overwatch, except as she's relevant to McCree (and I don't like the specter of a man hanging over my F/F).

TBH, Ashe had the bad luck to bounce off a fandom that has a bug up its ass about white women. I was kinda disappointed with her too in the beginning because I found her design kinda generic anime/MOBA (to the point where there is, apparently by pure coincidence?, also a skinny white-haired lady named Ashe in League of Legends), and felt that she could stand to look a little more "weathered cowgirl criminal" and a little less "Instagram girl". But you know what, if fanon can spin McCree into a vaguely racist caricature in a binder, then Ashe can be a grizzled MILF in my head. Thusly:

The people who are shipping Ana/Ashe... like I support you, but BOOO, those are not my Ana ships. >:[ The other Ashe ship that appears to be around in the fandom is Ashe/Widowmaker... which gets a solid "meh" from me.

(The other thing about Ashe is that, like D.Va, she doesn't really have a lot of canonical ties to other female characters in the cast--or to anyone besides McCree--and unlike D.Va, she wasn't a launch character who had time to accumulate mounds of fanon and favoritism. And like, fanon is half of Overwatch. LOLRIP.)

Anon, I'm guilty of going heart-eyed the moment I saw that older!Ashe art back when she was released (second link, it doesn't open but I recognize the 'older and interesting lol) and forgetting all about actual!Ashe. But honestly at this point, both older!Ashe and actual!Ashe do it for me, so I might be winning here because canon and fandom both have provided haha. Thanks for the links!

Ana/Ashe is actually the Ashe ship for me, with Ashe/Sombra closing in. I can't see them as friends or lovers, but as enemies? It's the only think I've thought about after Ashe was released. The age gap, the different volumes when commanding people lol. I like the idea of Ashe challenging Ana in everything and failing.

What are your Ana ships?

Did you consider going with Ashe/Female OC? A young, new gangmember that flips Ashe's world upside down. *_*

If I had no other options, I could go for Ashe/OC... But if the Ashe/Sombra was a hit, I might as well see if I can't draw from that well of inspiration again. :V Making shit up from my naked id didn't steer me wrong the first time anyway!

I mean, when you put it that way I can sorta see it? My Ana ships are Ana/Mercy (uhh, can you tell I have a Thing? I have a Thing) with side plates of Ana/Moira and Ana/Widow. And I can multiship, but my brain is a bit like, "Ana already has a wealth of female characters in her orbit, so what would make her gravitate to Ashe, specifically, and why would circumstances conspire that they would even meet when their only point of potential connection is (again) McCree?" Then again, it's Overwatch and we're basically making everything up out of our ass as we go along anyway. And like, I do feel obligated to stan any Ana/female character ships on principle, because the SMILF (sniper MILF) F/F niche is sorely underserved by this fandom.

I can and it's a Good Thing lmao. Ana/Mercy's the first ship I got into in OW, and I still ship it like burning. Young!Ana/Mercy? it was sort of my awakening regarding 'age gap' kink. But current!Ana/Mercy is just as good.

I am so Migratory Femslash Fandom for Overwatch, I ship basically all the women with each other. I really love Ana/Zarya, Ana/Angela, Pharmercy, Moira/D.Va, Zarya/Lynx 17, Widowtracer, Tracer and her gf, uhhh I think those are all the ones I'm super into, I do wish the female character designs were as diverse w/r/t age and body type as the male ones are but I still really love that there are so many of them!

I'm not a gamer tho so I only have the shorts and the porn other people write/draw to go off of. The Widow & Tracer short was what put this on my femslash radar way back when and I've been pretty satisfied so far! There are so many good artists here too which I love, I'm way more serious about looking at femslash art than art for any other gender combo.

Moira/D.Va? Now that's an oddball ship...
