Nonny, I don't know what breed of hatefulness/transphobia/2nd-wave L-sep/biphobia/exclusionist nonsense you're dogwhistling here, but I can guarantee you "gb2 w4w!!!" was never a response to talking about homophobia. It could have been a response to "trans lesbians are a conspiracy to force lesbians to suck dick and their existence is both rape and conversion therapy," or "ace lesbians are inherently homophobic and out to destroy real lesbians with conservative purity ring forced celibacy, also they're straight," or "bi women steal lesbian energies and give them to men, also they're straight too," and none of these things, I can condescendingly assure you, are "talking about homophobia."

I'm very willing to talk about homophobia, and have on this meme, and any of those conversations would have been fine on FFA too, except for trolls trying to derail it with nonsense like this, or telling my lesbian ass "you just hate lesbians!!! TERF just means lesbian!" I hate to invoke this wank directly, but I know exactly what you're alluding to, and I know it was worded just vaguely enough to give the "you're nuts and bringing up stuff I never meant!" out, but let's just drag this shit out into the daylight where everyone can see how ugly it is. I'm too old and been around the lesbian feminist block too many times to not know our wanks and discourse by heart. And it's never done our community a lick of good. At worst, it's been astroturfed by outsiders to sow dissent and divide and conquer us. If you can't take a breath and let other wlw do them while you do you, and instead have to take other people's lifestyles as some kind of narcissistic attack on yours, you are not "talking about homophobia," you are trying to police other people's identities and being a community-destroying, solidarity-busting asshole. That is not gay liberation, that is not consciousness raising, and you are not helping.

w4w has never been a place to "talk about homophobia" in any kind of useful sense, and FFAers wouldn't tell you to go back there for that, many of them would actually just commiserate. Homophobia gets frozen, as does all that other bullshit.

FFA has trolls/individual wanks as bad as w4w, some of which seem to actively come from there, others homegrown, to the point that I've visited FFA less and less, but I skimmed w4w once when it was new and it was a level of wank I can't even gird my loins for on alternate Thursdays, it's just a hellholle I want nothing to do with. At least FFA has a reputation for earnestness instead of just being cynical, paranoid, and hateful 24/7/365.

I don't know if mod is a w4w mod, and the allegation did give me a moment's pause, but I decided to judge the community based on what it actually is, rather than possibly baseless rumors and fears. So far, it seems okay! I'm starved for good f/f discussion and sick to death of having that trolled out of existence, so I'm willing to give it a shot. If it turns out to be a cesspool, no one's holding a gun to my head and making me keep the tab open. But all this handwringing prognostication over the doom of a meme on its first post just seems overwrought. See where it goes, and then we'll know. That's all any of us can do. I'm sure many members have been on w4w, whether or not the mod has, and all I really care about is that they behave their damn selves here, regardless of what they have or haven't been involved in in the past. Who among us hasn't been a wanker from time to time? But a community based in wank is only fun for a few popcorning sociopaths, and those can GTFO as far as I'm concerned.

i primarily meanf the criticisms i constantly see that wiffu is a "racist, sexist, homophobic, insert -ist" hellhole as if ffa doesn't have problems with literally all of those but i've also seen people insist it's all w4w because meme can't be terrible on its own
