who are npcs that you would just love to be able to romance but can't, either because you're a female pc, because they're just not a romance option, or the game just doesn't have a romance gimmick

(for the purposes of this thread, ones that you can mod/save edit to romance, like morrigan in da:o or ashley from mass effect, still count as "not able to be romanced")

i made this thread just so i could cry over pallegina while i'm replaying pillars of eternity

A moddable one but Bastila in KotOR ... Jen Hale's voice *does things* to me, anons, but male PC/Bastila is pretty meh all in all.

oh anon, i love bastila and her (modded to f/f) romance

cassandra would be my go-to f/f romance in da:i if she wasn't hetlocked (i still flirt with her but never enough to trigger the no homo scene because that scene is all kinds of bullshit)

also almost all of the female characters in mass effect 1-3, i love the trilogy and love playing as femshep but i hate how my only real f/f options are liara (whose romance i'm pretty meh about) and traynor (who i like but her romance is so low-content and only in me3)

i was into liara in a few scenes from the shadowbroker dlc, like when she jumps out of the window and charges off after the spectre while shepard is still laying on the ground covered in glass, or the post-boss-battle where she and femshep are both panting and staring at each other where i wanted her to slam my femshep into a wall to make out, but otherwise she's just so meh

tbh most hetlocked female lis (and female video game characters in general) don’t have an arc or character type im into, dnw to melt the ice queen or tame the bad girl

i don’t get super into player character romances in general though

bastila/frevan should have been canon tho

I got into Choices: Stories You Play a while back bc it had f/f options, but they kind of tend to prefer the same "best friend" female character romance type. There's a mean girl in the college story where you're trying to impress her to get into her sorority... and you can't date her or befriend her at all. Boo.

I really wish Dagna had been a full companion and a romance option in DAI! She is imo the cutest, most interesting girl in Skyhold - aside from Leliana, of course, who is already my Warden's girlfriend.

why, bioware, would you put a butch woman in your game and then be like "lol she's straight tho"??? the type of appearance i find most attractive so rarely turns up in games (or.... anywhere else) and then you give me an attractive female li with one hand and take her away with the other
