Especially with mage f!Hawke. (Man, I really wish it was possible to play a mage and also get Bethany instead of Carver. I love Bethany so I hardly ever actually play a mage, but the mage/templar aspect makes f!Hawke/Meredith even more compelling to me.)

Yesssss exactly. Mage is my preference for DA games generally, but I vastly prefer Bethany over Carver, so... oh well!

i love it so much, it's my exact favorite brand of fucked up. it's pretty much a perfect encapsulation of the female cover of "hellfire" from hunchback of notre dame especially if hawke is a mage.

i have like 2/3rds of a fic for them that i haven't touched in over a year and a half, maybe one day i'll finish it and post it

I've always got the impression that Meredith cares a lot about Hawke's opinion and approval, way more than what even Hawke's influence and standing in Kirkwall would justify. And way more personally. And that she's very, very angry about that. It makes for a great basis for a ship. :D
