I don't know if I'm just way too biased, but I swear sometimes I get a weird feeling of 'how dare an f/f ship be big and popular and noisy and have entitled shippers like other normal juggernaut ships' from people. Like femslash is better when it is the awkward little sister in the fandom corner everyone can just pat on the head while the big kids are playing.

Yeah, it's not just you. Some people seem to feel like something has somehow gone wrong with the natural order when F/F-heavy fandoms act like perfectly normal fandoms.

Yeah, there was some weird nastiness about MCU FF recently -- like an FF ship can't be "real" if it's popular or in a megafandom.

MCU fandom was such a nice surprise in terms of the sheer variety of F/F, but I feel so weird being into the MCU primarily for F/F (I do have a couple of M/M and M/F ships but I'm here mostly for the femslash) because it's a juggernaut slash fandom. But even outside the Jessica Jones and Agent Carter corners of fandom the fact that there are so many F/F rarepairs (which wouldn't be rarepairs in any of my other tiny/medium-sized fandoms because a lot of them have over 100 fics). I feel like I need to show my "real" femslash shipper credentials whenever I get into a fandom that's primarily not very femslashy but has femslashy corners with a lot of different pairings and a lot of fics just by virtue of the fandom being a big fandom (MCU, Harry Potter, A:LoK and even some corners of Star Wars and SGA and SG-1 fandoms).

I know I get OTT overdefensive about this because some nonnies on FFA think that femslash shippers should stick to primarily-femslash fandoms with juggernaut F/F ships (and some of those nonnies are femslashers themselves, which is frustrating), but I don't want to, and the last big F/F fandom I got into was...LoK? Or Ghostbusters. I keep having to remind myself that it doesn't make me a Bad Lesbian for being into F/F in smaller fandoms and in femslashy corners of more het/dudeslash focused fandoms.

As another MCU femslasher, you have all my sympathies. The MCU got really interesting for me, femslash-wise, just within the last year. Now we've got the GotG women, the Wakanda women, AND Valkyrie, and and all that together is just exactly what I need for a lot of femslash shipping enthusiasm.

So, solidarity! There's some really great femslash in this fandom. :)
