Can the mods just remove the troll that's been shitting all over the meme? I don't care to have them crystallized all over, especially since this is shaping up to be a meme that lasts for longer than a day or two a post.

Unfortunately since we are wonderfully IP unlogged it's impossible to know if every wanky-sounding comment is the same troll. But there definitely is one here, trying to stir up wank with all their might. I think once something is actively trolly enough, yeah. Just delete, don't freeze. Imo.

And this is why IP logging is a good thing, despite the hand-wringing over it on FFA.

Yeah, I'm actually fine with it. And especially since we clearly have a few people here specifically to be nasty, it seems like a good idea.

Oh god, nooooooo. FFA is the only one with that shit.

Yeah, I'm good with it too, for this reason. A lot of people have IP logging turned on on their own personal journals when they have anon comments enabled--same reason.

It's not a good thing on FFA. It's excessively handled there.

I understand. I love an anon meme without IP tracking, not only because I always do feel vaguely unsettled that someone can connect all my stupidity and extreme fetishes and overly earnest feelings to one person, if they cared to try, but also because I think a little same anonning never hurt anyone, especially on a new meme starting to grow. But it's the best way to keep assholes like this from shit-stirring in literally. every. thread.

I've been on memes before now where they turned on IP logging when there was a troll attack actively in progress, but off the rest of the time.

Didn't FFA do that at the beginning of their using IP tracking? It seemed to work, before the meme got too big.

Sigh. I think IP tracking really did get out of control on FFA, mostly because it went way beyond "we're just going to use this to control trolling and not track anyone else we promise." But this place is brand new and there's clearly trolls from a couple of places trying to fuck it up, which sucks, so I get it.
