nayrt I have the opposite problem, where I have zero interest in gem sex mechanics, but I'm also not into how fluffy and mundane the human AUs are.

If you want nonfluffy human AUs, there's a Jasper/Lapis writer who's done both a jewel thief AU and a Never Let Me Go (clones grown to be organ donors) AU.
