i felt like thompson being like "it's hard to answer these questions because we're both very private people but we also don't want to seem like we're hiding/ashamed," or whatever exactly that was, was if not actual confirmation at least very suggestive. like.... it's like the way monae before she came out gave all those non-answers to questions about her sexuality. it's not definite, but it's more likely that a straight person would just say they were straight, and people not in a relationship would just say they're not in a relationship, you know?

Yeah, and I think the stuff that they make is queer enough that like... I can get that affirmation from their work even if they don't ever say they're explicitly together. I wouldn't want to date with the scrutiny of celebrity on me either, and it's also possible that they're in a non-traditional relationship structure (poly, vibing but not long-term, friends who bang sometimes) and the way they've described it so far might actually be the most accurate terms.
