my small ship keeps getting tagged in fics where the main pairing is actually my f/f/m NOT3 and i'm so so tired

out of morbid curiosity i sometimes check the fics to see if the two even interact separately and 90% of the time they don't

What pairing? You can exclude tags on AO3 now if that helps any.

Let me join you here! Sometimes I complain in namespace about how too much femslash is fluffy hairbraiding nothing and I'd like porn and then I get pushback, like "but I don't like writing porn? but what about people who don't like sex? but why does everything have to be about sex?" and like, you do you! Fandom should be fun, first and foremost, but I really would like some porn.

Exactly! I just want a little more variety. I do my part in sharing/promoting the stuff I like, but I'm only one person. ME THREE. There's a reason m/m and f/f ships get that reaction so often and while it's technically possible that someone who says that could be a perfectly innocent non-homophobe who objects to m/f ships with the exact same frequency, from my experience in fandom and real life the chances of that sentiment being expressed from a non-homophobic place are... not high.

one of my new favorite ships delivers everything i want in a f/f ship but it's all in a novel that hasn't been translated yet so i can't really get people into it

My complaint all the fics where my F/F ship is background dressing to another ship, usually M/M. Often those are even ships I like, but they weren't what I was looking for, dammit.

Of course, when I finally do find a fic actually about those ships, the odds are high that it's completely generic fluff. Whether it's traumatised vigilantes, complicated frenemies or literal supervillains.
